EBOGO'S POINT OF VIEW ON MAJOR CURRENT EVENTS

A Draft Sequence of the Neandertal Genome

An recent article has appeared in the Science journal [Science 328, 710 (2010)] which makes for an interesting read especially for life scientists (Search for it in my books/Publications)

From their DNA sequencing these researchers are trying to proof that Neandertals (or "the closest evolutionary relatives of present-day humans" as they put it) are more closely related to Eurasians than to people in Subsaharan Africa. They thus make a claim, though subtle, against the "out of Africa" hypothesis in evolutionary science (for those who have some believe in evolution). Otherwis e, they claim that we may have evolved separately. Since their "results also point to a number of genomic regions and genes as candidates for positive selection early in modern human history, for example, those involved in cognitive abilities and cranial morphology", then pops in the age old debate that people of African decent are less intelligent.

Nigeria's president Yar'Adua dead

I happened to have been in Nigeria in 2007 when President Yar'Adua was elected President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I personally have so much respect for this man as a man of integrity and moral rectitude. Governor Yad'Adua was the lone governor of the Federal Republic who was compleately free from all curruption allegations then; and his moves to sanitize the Nigerian nation from its crude and sour face of corruption and insecurity cannot be over emphasized.

Yar'Adua was a highly respected and devoted stateman, his death is a great blow to the frigile Nigerian democracy and may God put him in His bossom

ON THE CASE OF LATE BIBI NGOTA

It is trite that such things continue to happen in Cameroon. Tchiroma(Devil's Advocate) should really be ashamed of himself and the pupet he is.

It is outrageous for a learned man to carry such a cooked news to the press about a man hunourably serving his country within the codes of deotology of his profession. This is clear evidence that THERE IS NO FREEDON OF PRESS and RESPECT OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN CAMEROON.

A commission of inquiry have been set to investigate the matter, but Laurent Esso (The Killer) is still in good enough position to influence the outcome of the commission, ie if the commission even get to work. As far as I am concerned, the commission will do its investigation in the rooms of Hilton or Mount Febe.

Is this the first commision of Inquiry set up to investigate gruesome murder in Cameroon? where are the findings of the commission of inquiry for the murder of Mforlem Gilbert and Abouem and others in UB, is it not the same shameful commission which says Lapiro was the mastermind of the February 2008 national uprisings? I am ashamed of the whole Cameroonian system. Tchiruma, Esso and the others who go around with "napkins on their lass", cannot pick up the speck from their eye before claiming that Bibi Ngota died of HIV/AIDS. The Blood of this inocent man will keep chasing these paople all their lives on earth.
